***Observations: This petite 30" scale bass plays amazingly well and sounds surprisingly big for its small size and short scale. Condition is excellent, with only light play wear and minimal fret wear. The nut width is exceptionally narrow at 1.495 inches. The oil finish (or possibly a very thin gloss finish) is smooth and feels silky to the touch. The previous owner applied spots of White Out to the fingerboard to act as fret markers, but this will come off easily if desired. There are a few small dimples on the back that may be the texture of the spalted maple peeking through the finish. There is a small dark spot next to the strap button that looks like a small filled hole. Perhaps the strap button was moved? If so it looks like the fill is under the finish so it may have come from the shop that way. A very unique and cool-sounding instrument.
