When we first saw this guitar, we had no idea what it was. Well, we obviously knew that it was a graphics ESP, but neither Lee nor I had ever seen this particular model, so as soon as we returned to the salt mines, I emailed ESP to get their take on it. Here was their response:
"We apologize for the unnecessary delay in providing information regarding your guitar. When I saw the photo I distinctly remembered seeing another like it. When I looked through our older emails for information on the guitar I realized that your response was not forwarded to this account when the techinfo email was shut down and combined with our customer service email. I am very sorry we were not able to respond back to you. Last I spoke with our production team they were contacting the factory to obtain more information but they did tell me these were made for a short period of time and were a George Lynch Graphic model. Since I have not heard back from the factory I'm not sure if they will have more information but I will be glad to try them again to see if we can pull anymore info up for you."
Aha! It's a rare Lynch, we now knew. The seller of this piece told us that the name of the guitar was "Screaming Eagle" and that it was 1 of only 6 ever made, but as to how true that is, we cannot say for certain. So, we'll lean on the ESP community to please feel free to send over any links, comments, pictures or suggestions as to what, when and how many of these guitars were made. While we may feel no shame in sometimes not knowing what we have, we're never afraid to ask for a little help when the time calls and this is certainly one of those times. Maybe it's an incredibly rare guitar that's priced at half of it's actual value- or maybe not. Who knows, but we feel confident that, in time, all things will come to light and we'll get this guitar to the person it was meant to be with. Thanks in advance for all help and assistance!
