Vintage 1990's Electro-Voice PL92A Cardioid Dynamic Microphone Low Z w mic clip 672A 664 PL91

  You are looking at a unique 1980's or 90's era Electro Voice PL92A based on the earlier PL91 model dynamic cardioid microphone. I think this is a 3rd generation microphone based on the original 671 model? It's set at low Impedance and perfect for singing as well as broadcasting as it was intended. This PL92A was virtually identical to the PL91 & 671 except that the PL-92A has the painted flat black finish to reduce light glare as where the 671 model had the satin chrome finish. Otherwise all three microphones were basically identical. 

 I really don't know anything about the PL92A as I don't have any catalogs on this model. It does sound quite lovely despite the typical cosmetic wear and comes with the mic clip shown.

 You'll see in pic # 2 the PL-91 model with it's basic characteristics. E.V called the PL "Professional Line". The mic is appx 6 1/4 inches long X 2 inches wide at the tip. Very lite weight and easy to hold for extended periods of time.

 This PL-92A has been tested and has 100% output. The cardioid element has excellent uni-directional capabilities as well. A warm, smooth tone that has just the right amount of bass. Not as bass heavy as a Shure SM-58 though.

 As you can see in the pictures provided this mic has several lite scratches and scuff marks. The stock painted handle is free of dents, fractures or pitting. The mesh grill looks very nice with zero deformation, odors or discoloration and a new inner foam liner / pop filter was installed as the original was all but gone. 

 The on / off switch slides smooth and works without issue. The mic has a small locking mechanism to the side of the switch as well if you want to keep the switch in the permanent on position.

 Mic is solid with no loose or missing parts. The XLR connection was cleaned as well as it was quite filthy. She's good to go.

 The mic does not come with an XLR cable but these are easy enough to find. It does come with the plastic mic clip that grips the mic firmly and looks great. The joint mechanism has plenty of tension and is adjustable. It will screw onto any mic stand you have.

 Mic is an easy 7 cosmetically on a scale of 1 - 10 and sounds absolutely golden.
