SWEET LITTLE SIXTEEN – unique, one-off custom made guitar
I bought this guitar in February this year. It was advertised as “The VERY FIRST full build by Cleveland based custom boutique guitar builder Anthony Allen through Xeno Guitars.” I expected some decent built, but what I’ve received was one of the biggest nightmares I’ve ever bought. I’m sorry Xeno Guitars – I’ve never bought such a sh.. for such a big amount of money. There is only one explanation – it was your first built.
I’ve done total refurbishment from top to bottom. I loved its style (pink polka dot), so it was refinished using the same idea. Body and the neck were sanded and painted once again by “Airwurx” in Norwich. They’ve painted several my guitars and I was always more than happy every time they did it. The only untouched parts of the guitar were pickups, as it was equipped with set of Seymour Duncan Jazz / Jeff Beck set. I’ve added only golden covers and frames. Additional jewellery are: new locking tuners, Duesenberg Les-Trem tremolo, truss-rod cover, neck plate with pink logo “Sweet Little Sixteen”, and back plate made of golden anodized aluminium (many thanks GHOST GUITARS for prompt delivery). I’ve added also some pink details: new scratchplate, toggle cap and star shaped knob (I found it in Sweden!).
It looks as it looks – it’s definitely not the guitar for everyone, but I’m sure the new owner will love it.
