Here’s a cool and vibey 1966 Mosrite Ventures Bass that has been loved and played for a reason. It sounds really great!

Mosrite introduced the 2-pickup version of the Ventures Bass in 1966. This is one of the first of these. At around the same time Mosrite added the second pickup they switched to the cast “duck foot” tuners. This bass here still has the earlier (and much better functioning) Kluson tuners, so it was made in this transition period in early 1966.

The neck has a date stamp of March 30 1966 at the heel, the body is date stamped April 7 1966.

Despite having seen quite a bit of use, this bass remains fully original. Pots, pickups, wiring harness are all original. The pickups sound phenomenal, clear and strung with lots of growly character

Frets are original as well. They are worn, but still play fine. Action is medium low and comfortable.

There’s a small piece of the pickguard missing by the treble side of the neck.

This bass has a fresh setup with Fender short scale flatwounds, it’s ready to play.
