Vox Symphonic Bass 1962 White

Very early Vox Symphonic bass built around 1962-1963 built in Dartford Kent also the neck joins the body at the 16th fret which is an indication of it being an early example, there's plenty of info on the web about these so it's pretty pointless for me to repeat all that.

Basically they were a cheaper copy of a Fender Precision Bass, the bodies were built and finished by the G-Plan furniture factory and assembled at the Vox JMI factory in Dartford Kent. The body is mahogany and the neck maple/rosewood.

The guitar plays well and has a really nice slim neck, the truss rod works fine, there are two pickups with a volume each and one tone, all the chrome covers are present and everything is original apart from the odd screw. I took the guitar apart and took some photos of the inside, you can see that everything is as it should be, there is some wood missing that's split away from the channel between the pickups, I cannot see any reason for this other than an accident during manufacture?...Anyhow it's invisible under the pickguard. The Pickguard is nitrate I'd guess as it has shrunk and it's quite a pain to get all the screws back in. Sound wise the neck pickup is really loud and the bridge pickup a thinner sound, kinda typical.

Pretty much all in original condition and a nice colour with all the parts present, an all toghether really nice bass.
