Another superb offering from the master luthiers over at Avalon Guitars Ltd in Netwonards. With an upcharged warm Sitka Spruce top with subtle bear claw details and a highly flamed, jaw dropping Tasmanian Blackwood back and sides, this guitar delivers on all levels.
Blackwood shares a lot of similarities with Koa in the fact that it’s a stunning looking wood, but it also offer clarity in spades. Both tonewoods can have a slight tendency to be a little brighter than say a Rosewood when new, but then mellow beautifully over time. This guitar contradicts that from the get go and offers superb warmth and an excellent bass response, whilst still retaining the clarity and precision so often associated with these woods. This one sounds truly fantastic straight out of the blocks and like all acoustic guitars, it’s only gonna get better too.
It comes in it’s fitted Hiscox flightcase and is ready and waiting with the full Avalon lifetime warranty for it’s new owner, who is gonna be delighted with it we’re sure!
