Super Rare Eko X27 – vintage guitar made in Italy in 1965! Read the full ad!

Hi guys, I’m selling this super rare EKO X-27, vintage guitar made in Italy in 1965! 

Very unique guitar with a petite body and red sunburst finish. The story goes that this model takes its name from an airplane of the time (the Lockheed X27) and the particular shape of the pickguard, all chromed, has made the guitar particularly famous.

This is a beautiful Eko X27 (1965), full of scratches and nicks, beautifully heavy relic, built during the golden age of the Italian company.

I'm not a guitarist: I tried to connect the guitar to an amplifier and it sounds very good, the pickups have a surprisingly meaty sound! The action is super comfortable in my opinion, the mechanics are in good condition. The single switch that turns on the pickups works. The volume knob works. The tone knob works. The only thing I haven't figured out how they should work are the two switches at the top (maybe some intervention by a luthier is needed on these, for example some wire to be welded or similar, sorry I’m not an expert).

This guitar probably needs a general setup by a luthier (strings, check or clean electrical switch contacts, etc.) but sounds really good! Cosmetically there are the classic signs of use that can be found in vintage guitar of these years: there are dings and small cracks (especially under the bridge) but nothing that compromises the playability and beauty of the instrument.

The guitar must be considered a project guitar, do not think you can discard the pack and start playing with your band, there is some little work to do, but nothing serious. It sounds great!
