Anybody who has read through the low end forum on Gearslutz probably knows a bit about Stellar microphones. The CM5 is a fantastic tube condenser in the spirit of the C12/ELAM 251. Great clear sound with present upper mids and bass. Check out the RecordingHacks review of this mic to hear what it does for drum overheads vocals, and acoustic guitar. 9 switchable pickup patterns offer further tonal and in-use versatility.
I am reducing my tube mic inventory to one since I almost always am recording just myself. The mic I'm keeping costs ~$2,000, but I can still say I will miss this one as it is really almost on the same level of quality and provides a different sound. Comes in flight case with shock mount, power supply, 7 pin cable, wind screen, leather pouch.
