Maxitone Hollow Body Electric MIJ 1960s - Red

What a great looking guitar this is. It is a blast to play. The neck is very slim and playable and the tones it produces are nothing short of expectations. It sounds like a hollow body from pre-lawsuit Japan. The clean, glassy tones don't last too long before the warm overdriven break-up starts to come through. It's in nice shape cosmetically, but it is almost 60 years old. There are chips. There's a hole that used to hold a pick guard (there is no pick guard). It's missing a truss rod cover and some damned hippie put a sticker on the back. The bridge pickup is adjusted as far up as it will go. It still needs some more. Don't know if it is a design flaw inherent to this era of Japanese instrument or if there is something more insidious afoot. Either way, it's a cool looking guitar that is fun a f.
