Rare 1968 Premier B-220 Custom Bass Amp. 1 x 15" handwired tube combo, made in New York. Along the lines of the Fender Bassman and the Supro Thunderbolt, this amp really comes alive when you run a guitar through it.
The preamp uses an EF86, much like the original Vox AC15 and AC30. Because of this, you're really able to drive the power tubes and phase inverter, without distorting the preamp itself. This amp has a Multivox labeled 'Made in Holland' Philips EF86, which is super low noise unlike the new production versions. The phase inverter is a 12AX7 and the output section is a pair of 7591's. Eerily similar circuit to the much later Dr.Z Z 28. (Some research will show you he studied Premier circuits early on).
The speaker is an Eminence 15". The original Jensen Concert Series 15 is included, but needs a recone. The amp has nice shimmering cleans at low volume, and a nice, raunchy breakup at higher volumes. Simple controls for volume, bass, and treble. Weighs in at 40lbs, much less than you'd expect for a 1 x 15" tube combo.
