I built this guitar almost 20 years ago from parts I custom ordered from Warmoth. The body is Warmoth’s WGD based on Jerry Garcia’s guitar shape. It’s a solid mahogany body, with a beautiful figured rosewood top with a strip of maple binding. I finished the body with tung oil and it has a slight gloss. It saw rare play and is in great shape. Weight is 8 lbs. 12 oz.
The neck is unfinished wenge with a nice dark ebony fretboard. It’s 22-fret with no front inlay. It’s a 1 11/16” nut width and warmoth’s standard taper and compound 10-16” radius.
Hardware features:
- Sperzel locking tuners
- 3 P90s with a pair of Rio Grandes in the neck and middle and a Jason Lollar in the bridge
- Gotoh hardtail bridge
It plays and sounds great and has no issues that I can see.
