Update: We usually ship orders the day of or the day after the order was placed. Unfortunately, our local USPS sorting facility stopped scanning the packages when they receive them from us. That means that tracking will often be delayed until the package arrives at the destination post office the day before or the day of delivery. Please make sure you're okay with this before you purchase these VIPots.

This offering is for a set of two VIPots!

The magic of the "old" tone does not only come from somewhat magical pickups. The electronic components are just as important -- especially the potentiometers used back in the golden age of guitar making.

In the late 50s, Gibson (and others) preferably used potentiometer by US maker Centralab. The audio taper of these vintage pots has since become synonymous with the perfect vintage taper. It's pretty steep on top (great to "switch" from lead to rhythm) and musically to the end. No wonder people pay $150 or more for a single vintage potentiometer.

More than a year of R&D went into the VIPots. It included us buying and sacrificing several NOS Centralab pots from the 50s and massive analysis of their taper, torque, etc.

The VIPots are exact functional copies of the old potentiometers. The same audio taper, the same torque and US fine spline split shaft for a direct drop-in replacement. 550kOhm with 15% tolerance, putting them in the range of all the tested NOS pots.
We now added a short sound sample showcasing how great the clarity sound is retained when backing off the VIPots - check it out! It features the neck humbucker in a 335 style guitar with the volume at 10, 8, 6, and 3 - standard 50s wiring, no treble bleed.

PLEASE READ: The VIPots have a 3/8" shaft, which some may refer to as "short shaft". They will fit Gibson Reissue guitars, but will NOT fit modern Gibson Les Paul models that require long shaft pots. Please check if your guitar requires long shaft VIPots (which we offer in our store) before you order.

Specs
- authentic vintage audio taper
- authentic torque
- 550kOhm +/- 15%
- 3/8” shaft

We test every VIPot for function before we send it out. Please, check them BEFORE you install them, as we cannot offer warranty/replacement/etc. once the VIPot has been touched by a soldering iron.
