Thank you for your interest in this instrument – below, you will find all detailed information about this guitar:
This German parlor guitar is a great sounding, refurbished antique instrument with comfortable playability overall, no wall hanger by any means! It was hand crafted approx. 100 years ago in the 1930s in the renowned musical instrument manufacturing hub that is Markneukirchen (where the Goldklang guitars were manufactured in the workshops of the F. & R. Enders company). The guitar is nicely preserved, recently fully checked and cleaned and is ready to be played and enjoyed as it should.
It features all solid-wood ladder-braced construction with a high-quality spruce top with tight grain, solid figured maple back and sides, a straight figured maple neck, rosewood fretboard and perfectly working and cleaned original nickel-plated tuners. The finish is in great condition too some marks of previous use and natural patina. There were some thin cracks on the top, all of which are properly repaired and cleated and do not impair the sound or integrity of the instrument in any way (that includes the area around the fretboard, which was repaired at some point in the past and is 100 % stable and without issues). The guitar was checked and cleaned properly and it's in a great condition overall.
The instrument is quite loud for its size, has a very pleasant, focused timbre and just the right amount of presence, with articulate lows and overall characteristics typical for guitars of this kind. The scale lenght is 620 mm, string spacing (e to E) at saddle is 57 mm, the nut width 45 mm.
At the moment, it is strung up with a new set of standard-tension nylon strings. I will restring to low-tension steel strings as a part of the purchase upon your request (the guitar can handle them well). A vintage soft guitar bag is included in the purchase.
I just love old guitars – and always do my best to satisfy those who purchase them from me! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like any further information.
