About This Listing

1968 Mosrite Mark I

After their contract with legendary surf rock band The Ventures ran out, California guitar makers Mosrite continued producing their iconic asymmetrical model under the Mark I name.

This example appears largely original featuring a pair of Mosrite of California stamped pickups, Moseley vibrato tailpiece, and a very dark metallic blue finish.

This example has certainly been lovingly played over the years, with some grooves worn into the rosewood fretboard, and a healthy dose of pick scratches. The frets on this example are low and flat but still play well, and there are a few chips in the thick poly finish as pictured as well as some cracks in the binding but it remains stable.

The pots date to the 8th week of 1967 and the neck pocket is stamped 1968. The guitar weighs 8lbs 14oz. Ships in the original case which has that wonderful old guitar aroma.

Feel free to reach out with any questions, we're always interested in comparable vintage trades!
