About This Listing

Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

This is an ultra rare 1940's era Atlas SK-1 "sky hook clamp" adapter for any microphone stand or boom arm. This practical adapter allows you to either hang your microphone from above your stand or merely angle it to get just the right degree of angle desired. This is basically a much earlier version of the CO-1B adapter seen in pic # 11 and you can see both the size difference and design of the two. The SK-1 comes with a period short 6 inch riser.

Pic # 2 shows this very model of adapter and it's basic characteristics in a late 1940's catalog I have.

The SK-1 was only made for a few years by Atlas before being discontinued and these are extremely hard to come by. So rare that it's the only the second example I have seen or come across in over 10 years of doing this. If you want something for the vintage mic collection then this will certainly do the trick. I personally believe this SK-1 to be worth far more than my asking price due to it's rarity and condition.

The SK-1 is made of a lite weight allow. Possibly aluminum? It has the original grey crinkle finish and it's in pretty decent condition.

The SK-1 would attached to a stand or boom arm and it has a knob that tightens to hold the adapter in place firmly once attached. This adapter can be placed anywhere and give you the option to have another mic next to the one you are using or spaced out for another musician. You can screw a longer riser / stem to the adapter as well or simply place a mic clip on it. The adapter has several options to choose from.

The period 6 inch riser is included and screws right into the SK-1. The riser shows typical wear but will work nicely with this adapter.

This adapter isn't for everyone but if you appreciate the rare and unique...you're gonna love it.

THE MICROPHONE STAND  SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY...

As with all my mics and vintage accessories...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The return shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. BUYER MUST PAY WITHIN 24 HOURS or will lose rights to this item, unpaid item report will be filed and will be relisted. If you don't intend on buying this...do not commit to buy please. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
