Rainville Signature Stratocaster Pickup - a hotter, woodier take on the late 60's Strat tone

Our Strat pickups use Alnico 5 magnets on the bass side (E-A-D) and Alnico 2 on the treble side (G-B-E). This maintains the tight, focused bass response of a traditional Strat set while letting the treble strings "breathe" a little more with the lower magnetic pull of the Alnico 2 rod magnets. Doing this results in a slightly creamier top end and less ice-picky response from the top strings, especially in the bridge position.
Our Signature Strat pickups use fames plain enamel wire, which was commonly used by Fender in the 60's. Compared to formvar, which was most commonly used in the 50's, plain enamel sounds warmer and has a drier, woodier tone. This makes for a more versatile tone when using each pickup by themselves, while still retaining that glorious Strat quack in positions 2 & 4. 

We use nothing but the best materials - everything is sourced from the most reputed Canadian and US suppliers. We handwind every pickup one by one - no cheating. To streamline production, all our Standard and Signature Stratocaster pickups share the following features:

-Traditional vulcanized fiber bobbin material
-Sand cast flat top Alnico magnets rod (similar to the ones found in vintage pickups from the '50s)
-Modern staggered pole pieces
-Vintage pushback cloth wire

Included: your choice of white or black pickup cover(s).

Returns are accepted within 30 days, minus a 10% restocking fee. Buyer pays return shipping.

Local pickup in Toronto by appointment only. We're in CityPlace, within steps of the Skydome. Regular business hours are 10am to 7pm, Monday to Friday. Simply message us to make an appointment. We accept cash, EMT, Paypal and credit card payments. No debit.
