This guitar is beautiful and it has tone for days! Beautiful design, gorgeous 1950's American craftsmanship, the emblem on the headstock is so cool and original. Plays awesome, old school Kays tend to have chunkier action, this is a fantastic open tuning/John Fahey fingerstyle blues guitar (message me for a video). Tone is like an absolute cannon. Body is slightly smaller than a dreadnaught, similar feel to an Epiphone Cortez or Caballero. Has a little bit of wear, but this thing is older than the Cuban Missile Crisis and overall it's in miraculously good condition for the age.
The neck is straight as an arrow and it has phenomenal acoustic blues tone. I can't emphasize that enough! The pickgaurd is missing, but it resonates like crazy with huge tone and it's better to not have the weight of a thick plastic pickguard on the top anyway. The headstock emblem looks phenomenal, the original tuners are hanging in there like a champ, the whole guitar feels, looks, and sounds very very nice. The G string slot on the wrap around bridge has a little extra channel going on, but it doesn't effect the break angle of the string or anything about the guitar at all. It's It's not out of the question to tune this one to standard, but the best situation for this one and most guitars of this type and age are some open tunings at a little lower tension than standard. I think that's what they're best suited for, and nothing does it better than they do. Amazing guitar with special tone, message me for a video!
