The NYC Acoustics N12A is one of the coolest speakers on the market. It really gets the party going. This speaker first and foremost was manufactured to give you crystal clear sound. With 400 watts peak power and 200 watts RMS power this is actually one of the most powerful speakers at this price point. If you play this at full volume at a house party, you will likely get complaints from the neighbors. The speaker goes very loud. It is also perfect for small gigs. Before I talk about the features and options of this item, I wanted to talk about the guts of the unit. It all starts with the cabinet. One thing some audio enthusiasts overlook is the level of importance the enclosure of the speaker has on sound quality. This uses a top of the line wooden enclosure which is one of the reasons the sound quality is so crisp. Other brands use particle board wood which is not as dense as the high quality MDF wood we use. This item has a 12” woofer with 1.5” KSV voice coil and 30 Oz magnet that provides really CLEAN sounding bass. The 2 tweeters provide great sounding highs. One of the reasons our speaker sounds so good is due to the amplifier. Our engineers decided to use great quality magnets and voice coils and match up the proper amplifier to power them. We spent extra time and money on the built in amplifier and properly matched the power handling. A speaker can only go as loud as the amplifier powering it. That is one of the reasons.......we did NOT try to cut any corners on our amplifier. We invested into the proper enclosure, proper amplifier, and then matched the proper speaker components with the enclosure and amp.
This item has incredible features. It has built in bluetooth integration, allowing you to listen to music from your Bluetooth enabled phone or MP3 player wirelessly. The Bluetooth range (tested by our quality control team) was 49 feet. The sound quality of the Bluetooth was great. No interference whatsoever. This item also has USB and SD inputs and an FM radio giving you many playback options. The built in graphic EQ will allow you to customize the sound to match your favorite music genre. The Rockville RMC-XLR is the same exact microphone we use in our Pro Mic Kit 1 microphone/stand bundle. This mic was created because we saw a need in the market for a high quality microphone at an affordable price. We found there were a lot of good mics around from reputable brands that sound great, but are very expensive. When we looked at the cheaper mics on the market from both reputable and entry level brands; we were not impressed at all. You may be asking yourselves, so what makes this mic sound so good? There are 3 main components that make a mic sound the way it does. The cartridge, the magnet, and the mic cable. Our mic uses an M-56 cartridge which has a neodymium magnet. This combination of components supplies better sensitivity; which means your mouth will not have to be on the mic for it to pick up the sound. Our components supply more than a great pickup pattern. They have very little background noise, and great tone.
We pay a lot of attention to detail. We could have saved a lot of money and got our cost down by including a cheap cable, but we know how important the cable is.
