Tokai Goldstar Sound Stratocaster Strat Electric Guitar - Sunburst, Tortoise. Badged Made in Korea along with a serial number behind the headstock joint. Besides the faux tortoise pickguard, the plastics are black. This guitar has a very nice feeling neck and smooth fret ends. I would not call it a super fast neck; it just feels really well crafted. The guitar feels a little heavy for a strat to me at 8 lbs. 4 oz. The sound is gorgeous and I think I would play it more if it was a little lighter! I do not know for sure if the electronics are original, though, as I have not fully removed the pickguard and it appears that most Tokais use mostly white plastics. I did peek underneath for a customer and the pickups appear to have ceramic magnets. Some ceramic pickups can be harsh, but I find these warm and smooth.
Aside from basic light scratches and other normal play wear, there's a ding in the finish on the lower bout, another one on the horn, and a somewhat more superficial one in back, all of which I have tried to picture.
Local pick up is fine, but no holds for more than a week.
No returns except for honestly and objectively not as described. If the guitars is not your cup of tea after you try it, it's your turn to sell! I'm just one guy, not a store, so I can't really accommodate tirekickers.
