Ok... Here's the story on this weird thing:
I had a short-term girlfriend who bought a beautiful 1964 Hofner President, who in the long run, also smashed it for me. The only salvageable parts left were a good section of the original top, and pickups. The pickups are currently in another bass guitar, and Chinese Rickenbacker style pickups were used on this attempt to salvage something of what once was it really beautiful instrument, along with what I believe is a Gherson Rickenbacker copy bridge pickup. The neck is good and solid, from a Hartke bass (!!!) (I have the body and guts of that too, if anyone is interested).
The body is roasted pine, the routing looks like it was done by semi-skilled chimpanzees, and the neck comes from a Hartke bass. Believe it or not, it sounds pretty decent as is, in spite of a clumsily fabricated aluminum tail piece, and the rest of the abominable skill set involved with the final fabrication. The joke tape on the headstock says it all, and there is no pretense on the current state of quality of this build. There was a certain amount of salvation (pun intended) accomplished in this project, but there are several redeeming qualities, and I am now in the process of liquidating a good bit of my current inventory, and this one is now for sale. Any inquiries will be addressed to the best of my ability, I might only add that a quality harness has been installed. Someone with more skill could possibly make a higher quality project of this, but the top itself was just screaming for some kind of salvation, and I've done what I can to a limited degree of success, but it is imminently and currently a quite playable instrument with a reasonably good sound in actual fact.
Only the actual shipping cost, which shall be
determined at point of sale, will be charged to the buyer. This one, obviously can be broken down before shipment, and with the Reverb shipping discounts, should be able to be shipped at quite a reasonable rate, since the extra large box for basses tends to be the main reason for particularly high shipping cost.
Again, address any inquiries here and I will do my best.

Please read the description...it is honest and forthright about it's construction failings and condition. That being said, against All odds it plays and sounds pretty damn good as it is currently! I'm not leaving Reverb for any of my sales, so all communication will have to be through this message department. Ask anything you want and I will do my best to tell you the honest truth.. READ THE DESCRIPTION

I call it, as the first instrument of several I have constructed, the inaugural piece of my "9Foot" series!
Meaning, it looks great from a distance minimum of 9 feet away! Hahaha
