SOLDANO SURF BOX WITH SURF COMMAND FOOT CONTROLLER 

After an extensive design effort, Soldano broke new ground with a premier effects unit: the Surf Box. This effects unit produces the widest array of tube reverb and tremolo sounds locked in one box. All tube audio circuitry and a full-length six spring reverb tank give the Surf Box unparalleled sonic dimension and warmth. Classic 50's twang and all the rich tube tone missing from digitized units. Production limited to 100 hand signed units. 

A 16-gauge steel chassis houses hand built circuitry in the Soldano tradition. Front panel controls are grouped into two effects sections. Reverberations controlled through Dwell, Tone and Mix settings. The unique Pulse-O-Trem section features Speed and two types of intensity controls: Tremolo (amplitude modulation) and Vibrato (pitch shift). These can be used together or separately to create a vast array of sounds from straight tremolo to full psychedelic freak-out. Tube complement is five 12AX7's and one 6BQ5/EL84. 

Separate guitar level and line level inputs and outputs make the Surf Box compatible with any amp or rack system. The Surf Command foot controller allows you to switch on and off either effect, and it also provides a hardwire bypass. The Surf Box comes complete with its own enclosure for stand alone applications, or it may be mounted in three standard rack spaces.

With this unit in “BYPASS” mode there is no discernible effect upon the input signal from the guitar through the unit.  However, with the effects circuit engaged there is a touch of gain which seems to be constant whether either, both or no effect is selected. 

I purchased this as a used unit. It was checked out and had a minor repair performed by Boutique Amp Distribution in Commerce California in January 2024.  Soldano was acquired by Boutique Amp Distribution a few years ago.   

This is a super clean unit. It is in 100% perfect working order and is in excellent near mint condition cosmetically with only a few small scratches in the painted surfaces.  This unit has been kept in a clean smoke-free and pet-free environment for the past 22 years and has seen very little use.  All controls function smoothly with no noise, scratching or sticking.
