This listing is for used (it is a player's grade piece) 1992- 1993 Fender (made in Japan) gutted BODY from HRR Hot Rod Deluxe Stratocaster (also called HRR '60s Stratocaster) - which body-wise is the same as the HRR '50's Strat. BODY is imprinted model # HRR-60FO in the neck pocket area (but in reality - this body is the same as a HRR-50FO), + original contoured 4 bolt NECK PLATE & original screws, and original BACK PLATE & NON original screws (but the screws are Fender screws). Also comes with the original STRAP BUTTONS & original screws (sorry not pictured).

Body is Basswood with poly finish.

NO neck, NO tuners, NO pickups, NO electronics, NO tremolo, NO tremolo parts, and NO other parts.

Players grade means it is a player - it has a lot of player's wear - as well as some aging. But nothing that affects this body to be playable (when assembled and made into a complete guitar). It is also a nice piece for someone looking to ro a refinish job on this style Fender Japan Strat body - to make he look pretty again.

More detail are after the shipping info  --

  • For some USA locations the s/p cost will be lower than the price given of $69. Please read info about shipping (and the shipping / packaging cost) near the end of the description. Insurance and / or signature required at time are OPTIONAL service and wil be an additional charge to te given s/p cost. Please message me if you would like one or both of these services. NOTE: If I make the shipping label on REVERB (which I plan to do) - if insurance is added - then signature at time of delivery has to be added (it's automatically added - it's just the way that REVERB does it when I use Reverb to make the shipping label).

Starting from the start ...

This model guitar was made (designed) with an original Floyd Rose Tremolo (the original Floyd Rose Tremolo is NOT inciuded). Therefore please keep this in mind when deciding it this is they body that you want / need. And you will need a pickguard that has a wider space in the area that goes above the tremolo area. You CANNOT use a "regular" strat pickguard. This is because the bottom edge of the pickguard that goes above the tremolo will need to accodate the size of the Floyd Rose tremolo - FR tremolos mount differently than a "regular" Fender tremolo (the Floyd Rose tremolo is NOT included). Alse the pickguard needs to be an 11 hole vintage (50s /60s) configuration.

NOTE: Just some helpful info -- The HRR 60's model no. 25-1000 featured a rosewood fingerboard and the HRR 50's model no. 25-1002 featured a maple fingerboard.

  • NO complete guitar is included in this listing - this is just some information that I'm stating as a reference.

WEIGHT of this body (without any parts on) is 3 pounds 12 ounces

Neck pocket width is 2 and 1/4 inches

====

In case you are wondering - I sold the neck + tuners, the pickguard, the pickups, and the Floyd Rose Tremolo several years ago.

---

The neck (which - as I stated - I sold several years ago- was stamped HRR-50FO (it had a maple fingerboard) - so in reality when it was a complete guitar it was a HRR '50s Strat (becasue it has the maple fingerboard andit had a 1 ply pickguard). The HRR '60s Strats have a rosewod fingerboard and a 3 ply pickguard. This link below is NOT my listing- but it is one that someone else is selling. I am using that link as a reference. By the way - as the person states in the link below (and as you can see in the other link below) - the early 1990s Fender HRR Hot Rod Reissiue Strats are made in JAPAN - but the contoured 4 bolt neck plates say Fender USA.

Here's another link as a reference (it is not my link / it is NOT my guitar). NOTE - since it is a maple fingerboard and has a 1 ply pickguard - the HRR Strat guitar below is model HRR '50's Strat :

  • fuzzfaced.net/hrr-50s-stratocaster.html

----

I have a used Fender control harnerss: 5 position switch with two of the three controls wired together to the switch (missing one control). I probably have the original knobs. And I probably have the original jack plate + screws. Please let me know if you would like to see pictures of these item and please message me for prices.

ONLY the gutted body + original neck plate & original screws, back plate plate & NON original screws (but the screws are Fender screws, and the original strap buttons & original screws (sorry not pictured) are for sale in this listing. But below is information on this model guitar (as a reference) that this gutted body + neck, plate, back plate, and strap buttons came from:

The Fender HRR-60 - as well as the HHR-50 (Hot Rod Reissue) were made in Japan during an era where Japanese guitars manufactured by Fender Japan were rivaling and even surpassing the quality of USA instruments.

Produced from 1990 to 1995 and, as the name suggests, intended to be a souped up version of the 50's and 60's reissue Stratocaster (the gutted body for sale in this listing is a body from Fender HRR-60 Strat):

  • 11 holes (vintage config) pickguard (that will fit a Floyd Rose tremolo) (60s Strat had 3 ply pickguard //50's Strat had 1 ply pickguard) with 1x DiMarzio humbucker and 2x single coils.
  • Maple neck with 22 fret rosewood (60s Strat) or maple fingerboard (50's Strat).
  • Truss rod adjuster at nut end of neck
  • Single bar string guide and locking nut.
  • Floyd Rose vibrato unit.
  • Basswood body
  • *The HRR 60's model no. 25-1000 featured a rosewood fingerboard and the HRR 50's model no. 25-1002 featured a maple fingerboard.

Here is someone's blog / article abot the early 1900's Fender made in Japan HRR Strat (again the link below is provided as a reference -- the complete guitar is NOT for sale)

  • planetbotch.blogspot.com/2021/06/recalling-the-fender-japan-floyd-rose-hot-rod-strat.html

For now please refer to the pictures - but I will be adding written details about it condition later today.

The cavity for the bridge pickup has a chrome finish metal plate in it. SEE picture# 4. Since I am not the original owner of this piece - I'm not sure it it is a stock part or if someone added it. I really do not know the purpose of this metal plate. It might have been put there to improve tone of the bridge pickup. Or I think that this metal plate might be related to the Floyd Rose Tremolo that it is designed to have.

Neck pocket width is 2 and 1/4 inches. Feel free to ask for more measurement of the neck pocket.

  • A REVERB link that I provided about (it is a differentl seller's lisitng) shows the neck off of the body - so you can see the shape of butt end of the neck.

I took several pictures of this gutted body, and there are a few pictures of the neck plate + original screws, and of the back plate. I'll be adding a couple more pictures later today.

Feel free to ask for more pictures of this item. Feel free to ask questions.

NOTE:  There are some imperfections that can be seen in person that do not appear in the pictures.   There may be some imperfections that I overlooked.  In the pictures- some of the imperfections that this item has might look different in person. And - there maybe some imperfections show up in the pictures that are not that visible in person (such as:  glares, reflections, dust specks).

******************************

  • Will Ship World Wide (with USPS Priority Mail International).   If you do not see a shipping /packaging cost for your location (or if it is $110 USD) - please contact me me for the shipping / packaging cost - it might be lower.
  • USA buyers please contact me before buying the item for a more accurate s/p cost.
  • In most situations - the shipping carrier that I will be using for USA (states and territories) is USPS. But if I can get a better s/p cost another carrier - such as UPS or FedEx - then I will.
  • Since the s/p cost varies  (depending on location) - I put a general cost of $69 (which is the price for me shipping it to California, Oregon, Hawaii, Alaska using USPS Ground). But for many USA locations the s/p cost will be lower than $69. EXAMPLE - the s/p cost to ship to NJ / NY will cost about $33. Therefore I can edit this s/p cost.
  • The shipping  / packaging cost is based on the location it is going to, the weight, and size of the package  --  plus the packaging cost.
  • I live in New Jersey - therefore - please keep in mind that the s/p cost for a coast to coast shipment will be high for USPS Priority Mail - therefore I recommend that you use USPS Ground or UPS Ground.
