Gibson GA-83 S 1960 Tweed Vintage Combo Amp

Super cool and quite rare 1960 Gibson GA-83 S Stereo Vib combo amp. This amp is dirty but clean, if you know what I mean? It’s been well played but well taken care of. The tweed is in really decent condition with only some small stains, with the exception of one larger area of staining on the right side. It’s cleaner than most out there. The amp powers up and sounds great with both channels. It has a really incredible overdrive especially when using the four side firing 8” Jensens. Very nice tremolo effect, and the footswitch works. I have not done anything to really clean this up or change anything on this amplifier, and I will leave that decision up to the next owner.

I think the only modifications have been the addition of a three prong power cord and the electrolytic caps replaced. There are a couple of small screws missing. One of the 8” Jensen speakers might have been reconed, but I’m not sure on that one.

The amp has a mixture of newer and vintage tubes. The 13 tubes are:

JJ 12ax7/ECC83
Sylvania “s” 12ax7 USA
Gibson 12au7
Amperex Bugle Boy GZ34 rectifier

I can ship this if need be, but I’d prefer not to. I have experience shipping tube amplifiers, so I’m confident in my ability to pack it well and carefully. If you’re east coast USA I’m sure there’s a way to arrange something that doesn’t require shipping. I’m open to offers but don’t lowball me. Shipping cost is expensive because of the added insurance.
