1937 CF Martin 000-18 Acoustic Guitar with Original Case - One Owner

1937 CF Martin 000-18 with the original GEIB Chicago hardshell case and a vintage thin leather strap with shoulder pad in black alligator embossed.

This guitar has such amazing tone. It is warm with crisp highs and overall well balanced. It shows normal signs of wear, expected from an 85 year old guitar. It has had some bridge work done. It has moderate fret wear, heavier in the upper (bluegrass) frets. There is some mild fingerboard wear. There are 2 pearl inlays missing on the fingerboard. The tuning machines still work great. This guitar has so much character and just looking the guitar over tells a story. Please see pictures for more details. This is a ONE OWNER guitar. The picture above shows a gentleman everyone called, by his nickname, "Mutt". The picture is circa 1942 showing him with the guitar, and his 5 year old daughter, Little Bobby. At the appoximate age of 30, he bought the guitar with the original GEIB Chicago case new in 1937 from a guitar shop in Columbia, SC. He lived his entire life in the Florence, SC area. For decades he used the guitar to play in church and play Gospel music for seniors in the nursing homes in the area.

Mutt passed away in 1992 and his son and daughter (the one pictured above), now in their 80s, have just now decided to share this beautiful piece of history with someone else who will enjoy and appreciate it as much as their family did for over three quarters of a century.
