This listing is for those who appreciate great value, with a bit of history thrown in! Back in 1990, Epiphone decided to honor the great Orville Gibson by releasing this 100th Anniversary celebration of a couple of his original designs. The made in Korea PR775s Orville has a Gibson bell truss rod cover, and the famed star and crescent headstock logo, a tribute to the original Gibson logo of 1891. The specs on this guitar are outstanding, with a solid spruce top, rosewood back and sides, double bound body, abalone inlays, bound neck and headstock, bone nut and saddle. Two tuners have been replaced and are close but not an exact match. Most importantly, no new holes were required. The rosewood bridge had been lifting, so it was professionally removed, sanded, re-glued, and clamped. There are a few minor marks here and there as you would expect on a 33 year old acoustic, but it is in great shape and full of character. Very comfortable and easy playing dreadnaught, and great sound. Ships in what I expect is the original hard case, fully functional with latches, but the handle is missing. A little unconventional, but due to its shape very easy to carry under one’s arm.
