This is an intermediate level tenor saxophone, and ideal for someone who is looking to upgrade the quality of their horn without breaking the bank. The highly rated YTS-52 tenor that was manufactured in the 80s and 90s, was purchased used in 2007 and has been regularly maintained and serviced, as needed. The sax was just checked out by a local woodwind repair professional and he thinks it is an excellent horn, with great intonation and a smooth, sweet tone. There are superficial scratches from use and noticeable discoloration on the finish, which do not affect the playability of the instrument. It has a slightly sticky C# and G# key and needs a new thumb screw. The case was purchased new and is a modern, hard case in excellent condition.
