Upgraded Harley Benton Victory Flying V - 18V Seymour Duncan Active Pups Brass Nut Locking Tuners Momentary Kill Switch for Stutter Effects

This Harley Benton made a great platform for upgrades and since it was a high-quality yet inexpensive guitar to start with, the final result maintains an excellent value-to-cost ratio despite effectively doubling the cost of the guitar.

If you're looking for a guitar with a monster tone and stage presence, the Victory Active SBK is for you.

A mahogany body & set mahogany neck, along with its 24.75" / 628 mm scale-length, are conducive to darker, heavier tones. From its extreme shape, to its all black satin finish, this axe is squarely destined for the heavier realm of rock!

Rocking two high-gain active 18V Seymour Duncan Blackout humbuckers wired through a single volume control and pickup selector means no fuss. Plug in, turn up, and go. The addition of a momentary push-button kill switch allows the opportunity for some alternative & creative effects.

The all black hardware includes locking Keystone-button tuners for rock solid tuning stability and a tune-o-matic bridge + stop-tail combo. Finally a string nut made of bell brass adds a good dose of mojo as well as articulate, metallic overtones. I removed the single-9V battery box and found that 2x 9V batteries fit perfectly in the pre-existing route. I covered it with a piece of gaff tape and called it good. That solution has sufficed for me. Real gaff tape is denim-like in texture vs the vinyl-ish knock-off stuff. It's extremely durable and easily replaceable.

If you're averse to this solution, a piece of black chromed diamond plate would make a very metal cover. A piece of brass would be classy. Pickguard material or wood would be more mundane, but would suffice. Or you could route it out for a dual-battery box. Possible alternate solutions are infinite. The gaff tape solution never bothered me.
