1968 Vintage Made in Japan Univox Thinline 335
Amazing Mojo and Tone!
Completely gone over by local Luthier, set up and intonated, frets polished etc.
Beautiful Flame Top and Back! Rare to see a flame top like this on a tobacco burst Univox.
Neck feels amazing!
Lots of finish checking and crazing, adds a lot of character to this already character heavy guitar. this has a cool factor in spades and sounds great.
Not the original pickups, and the original pick guard is missing, but they can be found on line.
The bridge has been glued to the top in the correct intonation spot a very long time ago for whatever reason. Guessing whoever did it had bridge slip issues bending above the 12 fret, so its not a free floating bridge at this point. I did ask my Luthier and it can be reversed, but I have left it as is.
I have seen a lot of Univox 335 copies and most have a trem arm, while some do not. I see no evidence of a trem arm rubbing on the top finish anywhere so I cant say for certain if its missing or not? Very well could be non original tail piece, but the originals with the trem arm were horrible for de tuning with the slightest dip of the arm.
Great candidate for Strat sized P90 or Quarter pound pickups!
appears to be 1968 in comparison to other 68's I've had, but could be up to 1972 before the changes happened.
Quality build, amazing looker, and great full hollowbody tone!
