1962 Fender Harvard 6G10

For sale I have one of the rarest production amplifiers Fender ever built. All original in very good condition. Serial “P56011” March of 1962 Fender Harvard “6G10”

The Fender Harvard (5F10) amp was fist marketed in 1955 but was discontinued in 1961. As the story goes, however, Fender had a few dealer orders outstanding for the Harvard model amplifier. This led them to re-badge some tweed Princeton chassis with the Harvard logo, while slightly modifying the circuit to allow a larger speaker and output transformer. However, it appears that an even smaller number (I have only seen two examples, including this one) left the factory with a center mounted 8" speaker.

Even with original electrolytics (which I can update upon buyer's request) this amplifier functions and sounds fantastic. However, I do not play it often at all these days, just to protect it from unnecessary wear and tear. Please see my youtube video to hear it in action.

The speaker is the original oxford 8EV-29. The speaker cord has a splice connection which I believe to be from the factory. I have only seen one other 6G10 with an 8" speaker and it also had a splice connection in the exact same location.

The Potentiometer date codes, Transformer Date Codes, Chassis Serial Number and Stamp, and Speaker date code are all pictured and point to this being an all original 6G10, The rarest production amplifier Fender built. These amplifiers are extremely rare and do not come up for sale very often. This is your chance to own a piece of Fender history. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks.
