The Gibson GGC-700 is a Les Paul style guitar that was built at Gibson's second plant in Nashville between the autumn of 1981 and the spring of 1982. With a very short production period it is widely unknown to this day. Many people confuse this guitar with the Sonex line but the GGC-700 very different guitar. The GGC-700 is what the Sonex should have been. The Sonex body was constructed of resonwood (a multi-phonic body) and a bolt on neck. The GGC-700 is a solid mahogany body with a set maple neck. It feels and sound far superior than any Sonex I have played. It is equipped with dual scratchplate-mounted Tim Shaw Dirty Fingers pickup. These pickups are legendary for their heavy sound and clarity. This is a good playing guitar, relatively light with a great tonal palette. No flashy appointments here just well made with quality woods and hardware.
This guitar is in excellent PLAYER condition. 100% original. Everything works just as it should.
Light dings and scratches. It's hard to see in pictures since the guitar is black.
This guitar has been played lot but also loved and well taken care of. No major blemishes.
GGC stands for "Gibson Guitar Company" and legend has it that only 700 were ever made.
