This om-style guitar has a spruce top and mahogany sides and back and is cosmetically in excellent condition, with no cracks, dents or scratches other than a few swirls too small and trivial to photograph. I installed an internal bridge truss ("Bridge Doctor") to give this guitar more sustain, and a "zero fret" nut for easy fretting in the lower frets. The truss rod and tuners work fine. The guitar's dimensions are very similar to the Martin 000 size. Scale length is approx. 24.75", nut width is 1-11/16." The fretboard favors players with smaller hands. The frets are smooth and in excellent shape, as is the fretboard which looks like rosewood. The neck is straight, and the fingerboard has a radius that feels and looks fairly rounded. String height is 4 mm on the 12th fret for both high and low E string. The guitar is set up with light 11-gauge D'Addarios, which work well for this small body guitar. The adjustable compensated bridge is at its lowest setting, but a professional mod could swap out the metal sleeve for a traditional bone saddle. This guitar, like my Alvarez dreadnought from the same era, is very stable and holds tune well, and its construction makes it a good, inexpensive travel guitar that holds up well to daily temperature changes. Note that the materials used here consist of high-quality laminates rather than solid wood. Sound is highly subjective, but this axe sounds lovely whether it is strummed with a pick or played finger-style. A great value! Comes with a clean black aftermarket "Gator" gig bag (one shoulder strap is missing). The date of manufacture is on the inside label: March 22, 1978.
