K.Yairi Y80 (Carulli) - 1970s - Vintage Classical Guitar - Hard Shell Case!

I am selling a quite rare K.Yairi Y80, made for Carulli, a German reseller in the 1970s, hand-built by the Japanese luthier team of Kazuo Yairi in Japan with a slightly deeper body than the stock K.Yairi Y80 which is sold in another listing. It also has a little more decoration in the binding.

It was built with a solid cedar top and East Indian rosewood back and sides in Yairi’s famous “all tone wood layers”, one-piece cedro neck with ebony fingerboard, 66,5 cm scale length, Spanish neck heel and a headstock with rosewood veneer.

The guitar has a natural high gloss finish with understated decorations and is in excellent condition, even more so having in mind it is almost 50 years old.

This Y80 is a high-quality classical guitar built in the late 1970s and comes with a solid cedar top and back and sides made of three layers of Indian rosewood. This results in a tone comparable to an all solid guitar, with the advantage of higher rigidity regarding changes in humidity.

The construction of this guitar is, of course, based closely on the classic Spanish models. This ensures a beautiful transmission of tone and thus a good sustain. It impresses with a warm sound combined with a soft tonality and great dynamics with a deep bass.

Due to its age, the guitar has been played a lot, and you can feel that immediately once you have put it in your hands. It can easily compare to much more expensive guitars.

Very well accessible for all players with 52 mm nut width and wide 66,5 cm scale.
