(USED, BARELY) Dana Bourgeois has built more than his share of lifetime OMs, and his DB Signature instruments are among his very best. This one had a short stay in a large collection before developing a minor back crack, which was impeccably repaired at the Bourgeois shop shortly after. With their spot-on finish repairs, we honestly can’t figure out where the crack ever was, it’s good as new. Alas, like many of our customers, the owner has a few too many guitars to worry about, so he’s moving this one along. Good news for you!
So here we present a GORGEOUS Orchestra Model with Adirondack spruce top, highly figured Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, flame-y Koa binding, a masterfully sprayed dark sunburst finish, and Bourgeois’ signature herringbone top purfling. Condition is excellent, with no fret wear. It’s a prize.
Full scale, the nut width is 1 3/4″ with 2.2″ string spacing at the saddle. The fossilized ivory bridge pins are a brilliant match for the unbleached bone nut and saddle, everything about the looks of this guitar is breathtaking! The varnish finish, no longer an option on new builds, was Dana’s way of getting a more open, responsive top on his instruments, and we always adored the sound of those guitars. This one keeps the tonal winning streak alive, it has a big, warm voice and sparkly highs that really sing.
Includes original TKL hardshell case.
