Alvarez 5031 Classical Guitar Made in Japan

You are offered a nice and very rare Alvarez 5031 Classical Guitar Made in Japan. This was a shot across the bow of the much revered Spainish Guitarmakers. Alvarez got it right!  I mentioned rare, there is only one other currently available on Reverb and none on eBay, out of approximately 60,000 used acoustic guitars. This was one of Alvarez Top of the Line Classical Guitars in the Mid-70s.  Of course the Mid-70s to the Mid-80s is the Golden Age of Japanese Craftsman built guitars.  The guitars built during this era of some of the best ever built.   These guitars seldom come up for auction.  There are a bunch of lower Spec Classical Guitars on Reverb for you to compare this model with.   Most of those are 2-3 hundred dollars higher than my guitar, and in worse shape.   The guitar plays great! The neck feels great in your hand,  the frets have very little wear!  Nice low action with room to go lower but plays nicely right where it is.   Very clean Fretboard with no fingernail gouging.  Please remember that this guitar is almost 50 years old but looks brand new!  This baby is stunning to look at and play.  Beautiful clean top with NO bellying on the top and NO bridge lifting! The Rosewood back and sides are super clean.  The back is not cloudy, as so many vintage Japanese guitars often exhibit. Please look carefully at the pictures as they most accurately reflect the condition of this fine instrument.   It looks like the tuners were upgraded to German Rubner Tuners. It tunes very easily, not like the cheap tuners you usually find. Rubner Tuners sell for around $150 by themselves. I just installed a new set of Hannabach MediumTension Strings. Love the Hannabachs!
