For sale we a used 2006 G&L L-2000 natural ash bass guitar w/OHSC, case candy and COA in very good condition. This bass guitar comes to us via Jim Fielder (best known for his work as an original member of Blood, Sweat and Tears) and was used as a local/regional gigging bass 2006 until a few years ago. The bass was presented to him by a rep from G&L, and is a very fine bass, indeed. The back of the headstock has been signed by Jim. Made in USA, this bass weighs 8# 15 oz., and is currently set to Jims' specs with Dogal Jaco System Flat Carbon Steel Electric Bass Strings - JC106 (35-80) with a 3.5mm string action at the 12th fret, plays quite well.
Condition-- this bass is in as stated very good condition. We are selling this as is, we have done nothing to it. The frets show light wear, and some oxidization from age, but function perfect at about 90%. The strap button on the horn was relocated to the side of the bass (see photos). Jim does this as it changes the center of gravity on the bass and provides for no neck dive (see photo). The button is original and could easily be moved back to its' original location. The hardware shows some patina from age and use (see photos). Clean head stock, no nicks, the back of the head stock has been signed in Sharpie by Jim. The neck, both the fingerboard and back are pretty clean. The body is pretty clean, shows some use, but no dings, rash or abuse. The electronics are stock and work as they should, the only thing I notice is a little bit of noise sometimes when switching the mini toggles, which does not affect performance at all. The overall condition of this bass satisfies, and it is a really fun bass to play as it sits.
Info from G&L per serial number-- " the completion date on your made in Fullerton California USA natural ash L2000 is April 21, 2006. Featured on this instrument is a maple gloss neck/fretboard 1-3/4” nut width, 7.5” radius, L series MFD pickups, medium jumbo frets, bone nut." This info was provided to us by a G&L rep from their archives, and correlates to what I see in the neck pocket.
