Rarely Seen 1981 Guild D40 w/ Florentine Cutaway
This is a great sounding instrument in really good condition! I bought it a few years ago from the original owner who took great care of it and have decided to part with it because I Just don't currently need three guitars. It has a florentine cutaway... fairly uncommmon for an instrument of this vintage. The Westerly RI Guilds are the most respected ones on the market. When I bought it I brought it to Cat Fox - probably the best luthier in the Northwest - for a check up. She dressed the frets and replaced the bridge, as it had started to lift and the intonation was incrementally off. She then gave it a clean bill of health. Every guitar player that has picked it up has been impressed with the depth and clarity of its sound. The body is in good condition with some scratches on the bottom back of the neck, some dings at the top of the headstock and some really minimal buckle rash that you need just the right light to even see. The spruce top has a very subtle bear claw grain. The guitar comes with its original case.
