This is a pretty rare snare drum Pearl made back in the day. You can tune it by twisting the top of head and rim just like a Roto-Tom.
They made different versions, some out of wood, some of the fiberglass, and some out of metal like this one.
I brought this to Hollywood Pro Drum for a tuneup a few weeks ago. The snare throw off still works like a charm and the drum still has its badge. Nothing wrong with this thing, I'm just not finding it useful for me.
