Here’s a real gem. The Watkins Copicat is a tube-driven tape echo similar enough to the Echoplex for reference. The main difference being that you not only have a gain structure and warm tape delay, but also a beautiful reverb. This would be of the version 3 variety thanks to the blackface aesthetics and cream-colored housing. These units took Europe by storm in the 60s providing lush tape delay and echo to more than a few rock bands and studios.
Noel’s is in great cosmetic shape. Usually you see these units in pretty bad condition. The main thing missing from Noel’s is the tape cartridge. Those are easy enough to find though. For £15 and a bit of elbow grease, it should be up and running in no time.
