There are many amps that remain under the radar for whatever reason, and vintage Laney amplifiers from the late-’60s and early-’70s are some of the coolest.

Best known at the time for fueling Black Sabbath’s loud-and-proud sound, the Supergroup heads are true tone monsters.

A little rarer than the 100W Supergroups and Klipps (an amp with built in treble booster), is this one, a Laney Sound Top Mount Supergroup Session 50 produced between 1969-1970. Serial number X1188.

These have a different power transformer than the standard Supergroups and run on less hot with single inputs on each channel and a switch to boost bass or treble. Great sounding amps.

Noel regularly ran this through a Laney Bass 100 cab which comes with the head. This is an absolute monster rig, one that'll shake the foundation of any building. Both are a little beat up—as expected with these old workhorses—with a few scuffs and tears here and there. This one was used more in the studio than it was on the road for sure.

All items in this shop come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Noel Gallagher.
