This is a 1987 Martin HD-18 Limited Edition. The guitar was part of Martin's "Guitar of the Month" program and is a rare Herringbone D-18. It has forward-shifted scalloped braces, snowflake fretboard inlays, aging toner top and an ebony bridge. This model was limited to only 51 examples (50 domestic, 1 foreign) and is one of three Herringbone D-18 models that Martin produced, the other two include the HD-18JB (Jimmy Buffet) and the HD-18EE (Elliot Easton). In overall excellent condition, there are several nicks, scuffs and dings but nothing major. An abalone trimmed armrest was added and the tuners were upgraded to open back Grover’s, the originals are included in the case. This is a crack free example, signed by C.F. Martin IV, that plays and sounds as good as it looks.
