Authentic Vintage Bill Lawrence L500 Lead (L500XL) Pickup 1981-1983 100% Genuine & Rare

This is a chance to get one of these rare and very sought after ORIGINAL Bill Lawrence L500 Lead (L500XL) pickups (thick blade/chrome housing) in black. You see quite a few of the cream models pop up but not many of the original black. Get one while you can.

This is the real deal, early 80's model. This isn't your "Bill and Becky" or modern, skinny bladed "Bill Lawrence USA" reproductions. This is the XL in all of its glory; the same pickup that Dimebag used for so many years and eventually based his own signature series on. The same pickup that Billie Joe Armstrong used on Green Day's "Dookie" (still my favorite guitar tone of all time), not to mention their 39 Smooth, Kerplunk, and Insomniac albums.

I currently have one of these vintage beasts in my 1981 Fernandes Revival that I made into a 1994 "Blue" replica guitar. The power, punch, richness and clarity of this pickup is unmatched. There is NO mud in the mids like so many hot humbuckers suffer from, The chords will sing while you play

I measured this on my multimeter and got 14 k (13.94 k). There is still plenty of length left on the lead (5.5").

A little history on the L500:

The FIRST ever productions of the L500 made by Bill himself were in 1979-1980.
He had relocated from Germany in the early 70s & was in Nashville TN. at the time these were made.

The very first series was simply called the L500. 
There wasn’t a neck or bridge or XL up until 1981 where he changed the branding & the L500 became the L500 lead [L].

Around that time he made ANOTHER version which was called L500 [R] rhythm or neck.



The L500 Lead I am selling is the exact same pickup that was renamed L500L & then a few years later renamed again to the L500XL [the ones that everyone raves about: Dimebag Darrel BJA, Nuno Bettencourt, etc].
