Our first priority upon seeing a purchase is getting it out, so expect to see your tracking number the next business day if purchased after 4pm or even the day of if purchased in the morning. Shipments do not get picked up on weekends so if purchased over weekend expect to see it going out Monday

Gibson’s Legendary Square-shoulder Acoustic

Gibson Hummingbird is finished in beautiful ebony with a nitrocellulose gloss finish. Featuring a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, this exquisite instrument delivers an incredible, one-of-a-kind tone that made it an instant hit when it first flew off the line in 1962. This Hummingbird also features a gorgeous mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard that is instantly playable and responsive. In addition, LR Baggs VTC electronics are onboard to deliver stellar amplified tone when you’re ready to plug in.

Dressed-up dreadnought style

The Gibson Hummingbird brought a subtle new body style and a bold new look to Gibson’s dreadnought family. The Hummingbird was Gibson’s first square-shoulder body shape. To emphasize the importance of the new model, Gibson outfitted the original Hummingbird with such eye-catching features as double parallelogram fingerboard inlays, multi-ply binding, and a pickguard engraved with a hummingbird and blossoms. These appointments are translated perfectly on the Gibson Acoustic Hummingbird.

As discriminating guitarists immediately discovered, underneath the Hummingbird’s flashy ornamentation is an amazing acoustic guitar. This incarnation of the Hummingbird brings you the same square-shoulder design with a solid Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. These tonewoods come together to give the Hummingbird a sweet, warm tonality that sits well in countless musical situations. The guitarists know how important playability is, and no Hummingbird goes out the door without the famed Plek-assisted setup, offering you great action, spot-on intonation, and a buzz-free instrument that is just about perfect.

Great-sounding LR Baggs VTC electronics

This Hummingbird comes with an LR Baggs VTC acoustic pickup system, which features a low-profile under-saddle transducer that’s proven more stable and durable than many standard ribbon-type pickups. Its sleek and effective design removes unnecessary internal components to enhance the coupling between the pickup and the guitar and improve the sensitivity of the transducer for a robust, lively, and natural acoustic sound with excellent dynamics and delicate high end. Combined with an onboard preamplifier with an unobtrusive and removable volume control mounted just inside the soundhole, the VTC gives your Hummingbird a pure-sounding amplified presence.
