Rickenbacker Combo 800 guitars are exceedingly rare, and this one made in 1954, is from the first year they were produced. There is a crack in the body and the neck has been reset and is now in fine playing condition. These first year examples have a thicker body than subsequent years, and they sounds totally unique. The pickup is a humbucker, released 3 years before Gibson's. This guitar is in nice shape overall, but there is normal play wear and finish checking. The finish is original but there is some light touch up at the neck body joint from when the neck was reset. The guitar weighs 9 pounds and comes with a non original hard case.
