This is a fine antique pernambuco violin bow crafted by HR Pfretzschner of Germany.  Makers stamps can be seen on both the shaft and on the frog. Authenticity has been confirmed by Amanti Auctions of London.

The octagonal shaft is made of dark red-brown pernambuco wood. The ebony frog is silver mounted and the bow is finished off with an original ornate adjuster screw.

This bow has a spline repair at the neck which managed to save the original head. The repaired head is very strong and the bow is otherwise unaffected by the repair.

The bow measures exactly  75cm.  in length with a balance point at  27 cm.
Its weight is  55.1 grams  as shown.
