About This Listing

This Colt Peacemaker pistol shaped guitar recognizable by the backplate engraved with "GUITARZAN JHC" (and very faint no- 604) was built by Jim Cairnes as an early prototype. Guitarzan, standing for the shop where he was working for at the time and JHC his initials standing for James Howell Cairnes. This example has the word "BANG" on the gun blast shaped headstock and a bullet shaped trussrod cover. The pickups appear to be originally Japanese which Jim Cairnes rewounded as they give this Colt a certain look and now also a certain sound. As with all the other known examples the hammer of the gun works as a pickup selector switch while the barrelpin is the treble pot and the trigger functions as the volume pot. Comes with the original case as shown!

Less than 10 of these guitars where made during Jim Cairnes his life. Some are in museums, famous people's collections and this prototype is available for a serious collector or crazy redneck gun lover for all I care. Do a Google search and enough will pop up! Doesn't ever have to leave my collection, but I am open to trades or serious offers! And I thought it was cool to share this beauty with the reverb-nation especially if you're a sucker for wacky prototypes like me!

I will personally deliver this guitar within Europe! I also take trades and love vintage! Just so you know 😎
