I bought the body on this guitar from Stratosphere because I had a nice loaded pickguard and gold tone hardware to outfit it. This guitar is heavier than a standard strat because this is an Ash body, but it's worth the weight for the extra crisp sound and longer sustain. The hardware and pickguard came from another guitar that I own which is painted a color I didn't like. After buying the body, I found a very nice aftermarket roasted maple neck and put it all together. The pickups are Fender Tex Mex and it has CTS pots and a Switchcraft jack and 5 way switch. It is wired like a G&L guitar with a high cut tone, a low cut tone and a master volume. It also has a Fender pushbutton volume knob that lets you add the neck pickup to the mix no matter what position the 5 way is in. All these mods give this guitar many more tonal possibilities than a standard strat. It also has copper lined cavities to reduce hum and noise. Additionally, it has a gold tone Wilkinson trem bridge with pop in bar, and gold tone locking Fender tuners and gold tone American standard string trees with gold tone strap buttons for use with schaller strap locks. The frets are brightly polished and the fret ends are nicely rounded. It looks and plays great. I am selling it to start a telecaster project.
