Custom Fender Robert Cray Stratocaster Violet Light Relic Clapton Mid-Boost Circuit

This is a modified Fender Robert Cray artist series Stratocaster custom built by E11even Guitars. It features the less common Violet finish (looks more like dark Blue), new aged relic hardware, new satin nitro Fender licensed 60s neck and new custom pickguard assembly.

The body is a genuine 2010s Fender Robert Cray artist series string through hardtail made of Alder with a Violet gloss poly finish. It is in very good condition over all with some minor surface scratches and a small finish chip mostly hidden by the jack plate. It was modified by a previous owner and routed with a 9V battery compartment on the back and extra pickguard screw holes from having a standard 11 hole pickguard at some point. It is fitted with new Gotoh Aged Relic hardware and a new genuine Fender vintage hardtail bridge aged here in the E11even Guitars Custom Shop.

The pickguard assembly is made from all new components and features a 62 style 3 ply Parchment pickguard, Fender Robert Cray Custom Shop pickups with Aged White covers and knobs and the Fender "Clapton" 25dB mid-boost circuit with TBX tone control and an Oak Grigsby 5 way switch. The Switchcraft stereo jack  acts as a power on switch for the preamp whenever a cable is connected. The TBX and mid-boost controls are reversed from the standard configuration and wiring diagram in order to make enough room for the preamp board to fit in the control cavity. So the Mid-Boost is the middle knob and the TBX on the lower knob. The battery can be easily accessed and changed by removing the back cover.

The neck is a new Allparts licensed by Fender 60s spec neck made of Maple with a Rosewood slab fretboard, 9.5" fretboard radius, 21 vintage frets, Graph Tech Tusq XL nut, vintage chunky C rear profile, heel adjusting trussrod and satin aged nitro finish. It is fitted with new Gotoh Aged Relic vintage SD91 tuners and string tree. The frets have been leveled, crowned and polished and the fretboard conditioned with natural oils.

The guitar is strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 10-46 gauge strings with very comfortable action for Blues and big bends without fretting out. The pickups are set lower to the pickguard on the bass side, like Robert prefers his, for lighter attack and brighter tone. The guitar weighs 8.2 lbs and includes the new Fender Deluxe padded gigbag shown. It will ship UPS with a signature required for delivery.
