Vintage Dynaco A35 Stereo Speakers Made In Denmark circa 1972. They are in Very Good to Excellent Condition. The grill cloth is clean and intact, which is a rarity. The walnut cabinets have been refinished by sanding and oiling with a linseed oil finish. On the top of one cab a faint remaining scratch was too deep to get out - shown in the next to last photo. On the other cab the right edge of the top has a minute chip (about 1/16") which I touched up with artist's oil paint - shown in the last photo. These flaws are only visible by scrutinizing them up very close (if at all) and are only mentioned for the sake of full disclosure. As shown in the photos, overall the cabinets are quite beautiful. I added replacement 1/2" round black felt pads on the bottom just like on the originals.

The crossovers have been recently refurbished with new Dayton Audio capacitors. The original woofers have rubber surrounds which are in perfect condition. I also cleaned the 5-way tweeter attenuation selector switches with DeOxit. These are very fine speakers for vintage tube or solid state systems. Their smaller A25 siblings were quite common, but the A35 is rare.

The stated shipping costs are high because they have to cover shipping for anywhere in the continental US, which are quite expensive for two items to the West Coast. Shipping to East Coast locations will likely be less than stated, and if so I will refund some. West Coast shipping would probably cost me more than what's being charged. Reverb offers no way for shipping costs to be calculated by location, so the shipping price needs to be such that losses for the West Coast are lessened.

"The A-35 was a refined improvement over its predecessor, the A-25. In fact, the Dynaco A-35's have the same woofer and tweeter as the A-25, but in a bigger enclosure. With a smooth, wide range and a crisp sound, it had a much better and more defined low end. Many stereo enthusiasts consider this to be Dynaco's best speaker."
"The A-35 was housed in a more complex cabinet with a different crossover. This made for a much more articulate sound. It has more bass than the A-25 and dynamic capability. A high performance, two way system, the speakers have a non-rigid hemispheric tweeter with wide dispersion, which is crossed over at 1200 Hz to an extended excursion 10" woofer. The 10" woofer has a rubber surround, which is more durable than the usual foam surrounds found in most vintage speakers. The cabinet has two sealed chambers, partitioned in between by a damped vent. At lower frequencies, the enclosure gets larger for a more neutral sound. The speaker can be used with amplifiers having continuous power ratings up to 60 watts rms per channel, and the minimum suggested power is 20 watts. On the back of the speaker there is a selector that increases and decreases the high and mid range tones."
