Here is a classic Yamaha AVX 500 hifi stereo amplifer that works great and is in great shape. Features the classic beefy front black styling that was Yamaha's vibe in the 90s. It works absolutely fine, the lighted display works, it sounds great and is ready to go. Features a classic rotary treble and bass tone control, rotary balance, and it has a super nice 80 watt per channel output. This amp can be remote controlled, although it is not included. They are available on line or you could get a universal remote to work with it.  This stereo amp is from the fascinating period as AV receivers became the industry focus so this does have those features as well as a very nice phono stage. If you have a turntable you do NOT need to buy an added preamplier - just plug in the record player and spin your lps or "vinyls. This is loaded with audio RCA inputs which can be used to play an Ipod, CD, DVD, VHS or MP3 player, cassette or you could add a bluetooth adaptor to stream through one of the inputs. Also features the mostly obsolete RCA video through-puts, and a Yamaha-specific remote cables and Active Servo Processing cartridge slot - which are fine if you have the Yamaha gear to work with those. They do not work with any other set ups, and you are not supposed to insert the cart if you do not have the system, so it is just extinct audio stuff. The tape formats allow you to tape and record or you could use this for output via an adaptor to use with a sound card to a computer if you wish. The amplifier section is solidly built, and it sounds great. This was and still is a highly rated unit, and Yamaha used the circuit as the basis of several other 80w units for several years. It can accept a tuner if you are still listening to that. Unlike most later AV era amps, this does allow for surround set ups and speakers, but thankfully for many of us, it has a simple switch on the front to turn all that off. It functions as a good old basic stereo amplifier. Rotary controls and all. Also, it comes with a copy of the owners manual so no puzzling features.  Well taken care of. This had been used regularly until recently, and is taking up room. It is very clean with minor wear on top from over the years. Cleaned, and inspected, all pots and switches have been cleaned and deoxit treated, and it is dust free inside and out. It is great for a main system, overkill for a dorm, or a top-notch man cave set up. Yamaha offered some decent quality stuff, with beefy steel construction, and this amplifier is a solid example. It offers fantastic performance but due to being from the black-finish era it is a sleeper bargain now. I am asking $150 or best offer for it. Shipping in the US is only $40 - and it is heavy. Due to customs and AC current issues, I prefer to ship only to the US. Questions, or offers? Please let me know. That means I listen to offers people, so go ahead if you have a reasonable offer. I have sold plenty of things based on offers. Thanks for looking!
